Oscillating between the past and present, referent and original, reconstructions are historiographic representations, and yet inevitably also something new. In my design and research practice, I use reconstruction as a methodology that encompasses both historical research and design proposition, offering the opportunity for not only a critical re-reading, but also a propositional re-telling, of history.
