About

This research examines the history and traces (archival, geological, archeological) of a pair of nineteenth-century mountain huts, long since disappeared. Work on-site, in the field, and in the archive aims to uncover material registers, narratives, and relations between these temporary structures, the scientific expeditions they served, the various figures (human, non-human, geologic) entwined in their making, and the longer, deep histories of geologic time they are embedded within.
